VERIFY AND ADJUST SKIS

The first thing to do is to check the slab if it is flat and intact.
If you need to rectify your skis or rent a ski to try out the latest models, you can take them to a quality laboratory such as Ambaradan Spitz in Gressoney.

To check the flatness of the slab we use a steel gauge. If you place and slowly crawl it on the ski sole you will notice spaces and irregularities. It means that it is not perfectly flat and then, as mentioned above, we recommend taking them to a laboratory capable of grinding them perfectly. If, on the other hand, there are no particular convexities or concavities in the surface of the slab, we can proceed to the next steps.

Also when you look at a slab, you see a sort of plot. The deeper the track in the insole, the more the type of structure will be suitable for wet snow and high temperature conditions, on the contrary the thinner this track will be, the sliding will be favored on cold and dry snow. I invite you to read the article dedicated to how to choose skis and wax based on the weather.

Our technicians deal with grinding the slab, preparing the sheets, working the sides and lateral edges of the sheets, cleaning all the parts, polishing and waxing.

Almost all new high-end skis leave the factory and have already been checked and prepared. But to keep the ski efficient and make the most of it for both performance and fun, it is good to regularly check the condition of the bottom of the ski.

To carry out the particular processes, special specific machinery and a large manual finishing capacity are required. In Ambaradan Spitz we use Wintersteiger machinery and specialized technicians.
